Overview

The Marshal Unit has been constituted to assist university authorities in maintaining discipline and law and order across all ICST University premises. The unit operates under the direct supervision of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, and marshals are mandated to intervene in instances of misconduct, ragging, or any breach of university regulations, reporting such incidents to the police or relevant university authorities.

The primary function of the Marshal Unit is to plan, organize, and implement preventive measures to minimize student misconduct and ensure a safe, disciplined campus environment. Marshals maintain a 24-hour vigilance across faculties, hostels, centers, gymnasiums, and playgrounds, monitoring student behavior and activities. The unit also supports wardens in enforcing discipline, provides logistical and secretarial assistance during disciplinary inquiries, and collaborates with the university security division to safeguard university property and the well-being of students and staff.

In addition to security responsibilities, the Marshal Unit acts as a liaison to improve student welfare, including accommodation, cafeteria services, sports facilities, healthcare, and cultural programs. The unit also monitors student activities outside the university and coordinates with law enforcement to maintain order during university events, thereby ensuring a safe, supportive, and well-managed academic environment.
